The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
