The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
