The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
