The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 that hide, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 The rising dawn, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
