The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
