The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
