The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
