The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
