The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
