The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
