The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
