The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
