The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
