The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
