The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
