The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
