The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
