The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
