The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
