Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
