Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble scribes, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
