Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
