Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
