Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
