Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 who know all that you do: 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
