Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Honorable recorders, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
