Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble, recording, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
