Shattering (Al-Infitaar)

19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
