Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 noble scribes 11 They know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
