The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a grievous day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
