The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 On a mighty Day. 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
