The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
