The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 for a great Day, 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
