The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
