The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
