The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
