The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
