The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
