The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
