The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
