The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
