The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
