The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
