The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
