The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
