The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
