The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
