The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
