The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
