The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
